MUMTAZ

Housekeeping Staff in Dubai & Sharjah

Overview

Housekeeping is people placed with you on an ongoing contract, not a visit you book. MUMTAZ assigns screened, uniformed and supervised housekeeping staff to offices, residential buildings, hotels and villas across Dubai, Sharjah and the rest of the UAE, full time or part time, and the same people come back rather than whoever is free that morning.

That continuity is the whole point. A cleaner who works your floor every day learns which meeting room gets used at seven, which bin fills twice, and which carpet edge lifts, and none of that transfers to a rotating stranger. It is why housekeeping is quoted on requirements rather than priced by the hour: what it costs depends on how many people, for how long, and on what pattern.

Housekeeping or hourly cleaning: which one you need

These are two different services and buying the wrong one is expensive. Hourly cleaning is ad hoc: you book a slot, one-off or repeating, a trained cleaner arrives, does the work and leaves, and you pay for the hours. It suits a home, a small office, a turnaround between tenants, or anything where the need is occasional or the volume is low.

Housekeeping is a placement. Staff are assigned to your site on a continuing contract, they are supervised as a team rather than dispatched as individuals, and they hold the standard on your premises day after day. It suits a building, a hotel, an office floor or a villa that needs presence rather than visits. If you are unsure, the honest test is whether you need work done or someone there: work done is hourly cleaning, someone there is housekeeping.

Screened, uniformed and supervised

Staff are screened before placement and are directly employed by MUMTAZ rather than subcontracted, which matters for two reasons a client feels: there is a company standing behind conduct and insurance, and there is somebody to call who is not the cleaner. They arrive in MUMTAZ uniform, which is what lets a resident or a receptionist tell at a glance who belongs on the floor.

Supervision is the part that separates a housekeeping contract from a list of names. A supervisor sets the routine, checks the work against it, handles cover and retraining, and is the single point of contact for your building manager. Without that, a placement degrades quietly into whatever each individual decides the job is.

Where placed staff make the difference

In a residential building the value is in the routine nobody writes down: the lobby glass before the morning rush, the lift car after the removals van, the bin room on the days it actually needs it rather than the days the schedule says. In a hotel it is the same standard across every room at the hour the rooms are needed, which is a staffing problem before it is a cleaning one.

In an office the win is out-of-hours work that does not interrupt the floor, plus a daytime presence for washrooms and pantries, which is where most complaints in an office building actually come from. In a villa it is a household routine held consistently rather than reset every time a different person arrives.

The contract terms, and what is agreed rather than published

A housekeeping contract is written to the site requirement, and the term is agreed at quotation rather than set by a standard minimum. Shifts are built around your operating hours, including split shifts and out-of-hours cover where the building needs them, and they are agreed before anyone is deployed rather than discovered afterwards.

Equipment and consumables go either way: you supply them, or MUMTAZ does, agreed per contract and priced accordingly. Continuity of cover is part of the contract, and how it works is set out in the quotation. We publish none of these as fixed numbers because they are not fixed numbers; a building with one shift and a hotel with three do not share a term, and quoting one at the other is how a contract ends early.

How a contract is scoped and priced

By requirements, which is why no figure is published. We agree what the staff are there to do, how many people it takes, and on what pattern, and the quotation states that scope along with what is included and what is not. An inspection of the site before quoting is free, and it is usually worth doing: the difference between two buildings of the same size is the number of washrooms, the lift count and the waste route, not the floor area.

Payment is by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfer or cheque, on the agreed schedule. Where the requirement turns out to be smaller than a placement, we will say so and point you at hourly cleaning instead, because a contract sized wrong gets cancelled.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Hourly cleaning is ad hoc: you book a slot, a cleaner comes, does the work and leaves, and you pay for the hours. Housekeeping is a placement: staff are assigned to your site on a continuing contract, supervised as a team, and the same people come back. The test is whether you need work done or someone there. Work done is hourly cleaning; someone there is housekeeping.

It is quoted on requirements rather than published, because the cost depends on how many people, for how long and on what pattern. The site inspection before the quotation is free. Two buildings of the same floor area can need very different headcounts once the washroom count, lift count and waste route are looked at.

Yes. Staff are directly employed and placed with you, not subcontracted. That is what puts conduct, training and insurance with one company, and gives you somebody to call who is not the cleaner.

Yes. Placement is full time or part time, to the pattern agreed in the contract. If the requirement turns out to be smaller than a placement, we will say so and point you at hourly cleaning, because a contract sized wrong gets cancelled.

Yes, but that is manpower supply rather than housekeeping. Housekeeping covers cleaning staff placed on your site; manpower supply covers the wider roster including porters, office and event staff.

The contract is written to the site requirement and the term is agreed at quotation, so there is no standard minimum we publish. Tell us what the site needs and for how long, and the quotation states the term along with the scope.

Shifts are set around your operating hours, including split shifts and out-of-hours cover where the building needs them, and they are agreed before deployment rather than afterwards. We do not publish fixed hour or day counts, because a building on one shift and a hotel on three do not share a pattern.

Either way, agreed per contract and priced accordingly. Some clients supply everything on site and some want it included; both are normal and the quotation says which applies to you.

Continuity of cover is part of a housekeeping contract, and the arrangement is set out in the quotation. We do not publish a replacement time, because the honest answer depends on the site, the shift and the headcount, and a number published here would be a number we could not hold on every contract.

A MUMTAZ supervisor sets and checks the routine, arranges cover and retraining, and is the single point of contact for your building or facilities manager. Supervision is what separates a housekeeping contract from a list of names.

Yes. Card on site at the time of service on our technicians' terminals, by payment link, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfer or cheque. Payment is taken on completion of one-off work, and on the agreed schedule for annual contracts. Every price we publish is incl. VAT.
