Residents asking on r/Sharjah about municipality-approved pest control raise two routes: booking Sharjah Municipality itself through its portal, and choosing a company from its list of certified companies. The municipality publishes a register of companies you can search yourself. MUMTAZ is listed in Category A on it, and this page explains what that does and does not tell you, with a guide to checking a licence in Sharjah.
What residents are asking on Reddit
We could not open reddit.com from our tools, so the summaries below come from each thread's title and the preview a search engine shows, not from reading every reply. Open the threads for the full discussion.
- Booking through the official portal. In late 2025 a resident asked on r/Sharjah for a good pest control company, and the preview mentions booking Sharjah Municipality through its official portal.
- Has anyone tried the municipality's own service? In spring 2026 a r/Sharjah thread asked whether anyone had tried it. The preview mentions the municipality's 6-month warranty and a return visit: "They give a 6 month warranty and promise to come do it"
- A list of certified companies before moving in. In early 2026 a resident moving from Dubai to Muwaileh asked on r/Sharjah about setting up a new home, including pest control. The preview mentions the Sharjah Municipality list of certified companies.
What people recommend, and what to check
Residents in these threads point to Sharjah Municipality itself, and other replies in the spring 2026 thread name local companies. We do not rate those companies. The municipality's own service is its to describe, so check its portal for the current terms. For any private company, what approval means is worth knowing:
- Approval is about the company. The municipality approves the companies allowed to apply pesticide in the emirate and publishes them in a register anyone can search. It covers the company, not a single visit.
- The class is not a rating. The register records A, B or C against each company, and A is the highest. It is a municipality classification, not a customer review and not a star score. The municipality does not publish what it assesses to award a class.
- Look up the trading name. Search the name on the trade licence, which is often not the name on the van. Check that the entry covers general pest control, or termites if that is the job.
- Know what you are owed. The company should display its municipality certification, the people who attend should be the ones named in the permit, and the invoice should state the service, the pesticides used and who provided them.
- Ask for the follow-up and warranty in writing. The first-visit promises in a thread matter less than the terms on your invoice.
- Know where to complain. The municipality's complaint line is 06 523 1573, or the hotline 993.
How MUMTAZ answers each point
- Register. MUMTAZ is listed in Category A, the highest class, on the Sharjah Municipality pest control register, under AL MUMTAZ BLDG CLEAN & PEST CONTROL, trade licence 546486. The register records general pest control and termite work for us.
- Other emirates. We also hold pest control approvals from Dubai Municipality and Abu Dhabi Municipality, and have operated since 2006.
- Warranty and follow-up. The residential package includes a gel bait follow-up within 3 days and a 6-month re-treatment warranty on the pests treated, both at no extra charge.
- Moving into a new home. Residential prices are published by property size and include VAT. Message us on WhatsApp with the size of the home.
- Reaching us. Toll-free 800 688, or WhatsApp +971 50 760 0343. Every visit ends with a service report.
