MUMTAZ is a cleaning company operating across the UAE, so a list from us of the best cleaning companies in the country would not be credible. What follows is the set of checks we would apply to any cleaning contractor, including us.
1. Employed cleaners, or an agency?
The single biggest difference between cleaning companies in the UAE is whether the people who arrive are the company's own employees, on its visa and insurance, or sourced from an agency for the day. Employed staff are trained once and stay; agency staff change. Ask directly, and ask to see the visa arrangement in the contract. Everyone MUMTAZ sends is a MUMTAZ employee.
2. Is there a method, or just a mop?
Deep cleaning, warehouse cleaning, post-construction cleaning and disinfection are different jobs with different equipment and sequences. Ask what the company does for your kind of job, in what order, with what machines, and how long it expects it to take. A company that quotes the same visit for a villa deep clean and a warehouse floor is not planning either.
3. What do you receive at the end?
A report listing what was done, room by room or zone by zone, is what a landlord wants at a tenancy handover, what a property manager needs for a deposit conversation, and what an auditor asks for at a warehouse. Ask whether a report is standard. Ours is.
4. Insurance, HSE and the paperwork for a site
For commercial and industrial work, ask for the insurance certificate, the ISO certificates, and whether method statements and risk assessments are produced for work at height or with chemicals. MUMTAZ holds ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 and 45001:2018 and produces the site documentation before mobilisation.
5. Can they work around you?
Restaurants need the kitchen degreased between closing and prep. Warehouses need zones closed while roof steel is cleaned. Clinics need work outside patient hours with the products recorded. Ask how the company schedules around an operating premises, because that is where most cleaning contracts fail.
6. Pricing you can read
One-off commercial cleaning is quoted from a survey, and the quotation should state the scope and exclusions. Home services carry published packages where the company offers them; ask to see them. Card and bank transfer should both be accepted.
7. Reviews
Read the Google listing, look for repeated themes, and weigh the recent ones. Ours are on the Sharjah listing.
